The RN is responsible for stabilizing newborns, monitoring fetal health, and supporting patients through all phases of labor and delivery, ensuring high-quality healthcare according to established standards and protocols.

  • Required Qualifications: Graduate of School of Nursing, current California State License as a Registered Nurse, BLS certification upon hire and ongoing, NRP certification within 6 months of hire and ongoing, fetal monitoring certification or equivalent within 6 months of hire, and infant lactation education or equivalent within 6 months of hire. No minimum years of experience specified, but at least one year of labor experience or completed orientation is required.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: The RN must have experience caring for antenatal, triage, labor, and delivery patients, as well as performing routine newborn stabilization. Must be comfortable monitoring fetal health and stabilizing critically ill newborns awaiting NICU transportation (note: this facility does not have a NICU). Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills are required to instruct, comfort, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to learn and utilize healthcare software systems is necessary.
  • Responsibilities: Deliver nursing care aligned with the medical treatment plan, promote patient health, delegate tasks appropriately, and coordinate care activities with team members. The RN will report directly to the Perinatal Nurse Manager and collaborate with other healthcare staff, including supervising Licensed Vocational Nurses and department clerks.
