Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse in a high-volume, acute care facility. This role involves providing care for high-risk obstetric patients, including those with multiple co-morbidities and multiple births, as well as attending all high-risk deliveries with NICU support. The position requires strong clinical skills, knowledge of perinatal initiatives, and comfort working with surrogates and complex cases.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week, starting 10/12/2026 and ending 01/11/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS (Basic Life Support), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program). A minimum of 2 years of obstetric nursing experience is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner electronic health record system, fetal link, hugs security system, and high-risk obstetrics is preferred.
- Float: Postpartum floorfloat first; may float to NICU as needed.
- Additional Information: All candidates must complete MyJourney modules prior to arrival; candidates will be pre-screened by the clinical team. No first-time travelers are considered. The unit follows AWHONN (Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) guidelines; ratios adhere to state regulations. The unit is baby-friendly and emphasizes skin-to-skin contact within the first hour. NICU nurses attend all high-risk deliveries. Must understand documentation and care protocols related to perinatal initiatives. Previous experience with surrogates and multiple births is essential.
