This position involves caring for patients through low and high-risk deliveries, including those with known congenital conditions requiring immediate surgery, in a busy obstetric environment. The role requires working night shifts and providing specialized prenatal and postpartum care.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Telemetry, Labor and Delivery, Emergency, and Critical Care Registered Nurses will take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test onsite. Units include a Family Birth Center with 19 postpartum beds, 12 Labor and Delivery beds, 2 operating rooms, and 1 Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. Certifications required are BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification. Nurse to patient ratios are 1 to 4 and 1 to 1, following California ratios, with electronic medical record systems including Cerner and Fetal Link. The charge nurse is a clinical supervisor working six or seven days per week, supported by a Nurse Team Lead.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit; certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring; minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing.
  • Schedule: Night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, 36 hours per week, in a rotating schedule with three weekend shifts in a four-week period.
  • Additional Information: Staff will work with low and high-risk deliveries, including transferring babies with congenital defects requiring immediate surgery. The unit has a Level III NICU and maintains a 24/7 OB hospitalist presence. Orientation comprises three shifts for circulating duties if applicable, otherwise two shifts, with no requirement for circulating.
