Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to provide safe, compassionate care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients throughout labor and delivery
- Provide direct nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
- Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Recognize and respond to maternal and fetal complications
- Provide patient and family education and emotional support
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures
Requirements:
- Active RN license
- Recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Strong knowledge of maternal and fetal assessment
- Experience with fetal monitoring and labor management
- Ability to care for high-risk OB patients preferred
- BLS certification required
- Additional certifications such as NRP and ACLS preferred/required based on facility requirements
- Must be able to work night shift (6:45 PM–7:15 AM)
- Previous hospital experience preferred
