RN – L&D / OB / Postpartum (LDRP)
Shift: 12-hour Days | 6:45 AM start
Hours: 36 hrs/week
Weekend: Every other weekend
Float: First to float
Contract: 13 weeks
Unit
- FBC – OB / L&D / Postpartum (LDRP)
- 10 L&D beds
- 2 OR suites for C-sections
- 3 triage beds
- 12 postpartum beds
- 3 OB-ED / antepartum testing beds used for OB-ED overflow
- Approximately 140–165 births/month
- Cerner
- Scrubs provided
Must-Have Experience
- LDRP / L&D experience
- Must be comfortable with high-risk OB and couplet care
- Must be able to manage the patient from start to finish
- Must circulate C-sections
- Must be able to float to Mother-Baby (MB)
- Must be comfortable in all aspects of LDRP
- Must titrate Pitocin
- Must be able to read/interpret EKG strips on moms in PACU
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- STABLE preferred

- L&D: 1:1–1:2
- Couplets: 1:3–1:4
- Antepartum: 1:1–1:3
Staffing / Support
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor generally does not take patients but provides break relief
- OB surgical techs
- OB hospitalist 24/7
- Anesthesia 24/7
- Neonatologist on call 24/7 and rounds daily
- No vents on unit
- EFM: GE Corometrics / Fetalink surveillance
Schedule & Other Requirements
- 12-hour shifts, start 6:45 AM
- EOW
- Rotate holidays with staff
- Travelers work 2 of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's
- Holiday RTO can be considered but is not guaranteed
- If placed on call: 30-minute response time
- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment
- Travelers may float to other Sacramento facilities; mid-shift facility float is rare
- BSN not required
- License required to submit
