Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery registered nurse (RN) position in a high-volume obstetric unit. The role involves performing sterile vaginal exams independently, managing high-risk obstetric cases, and supporting patients through labor and postpartum recovery. Candidate must have expert experience with sterile procedures and be capable of working in a fast-paced environment to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Must have at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, ACLS certification, AWHONN Advanced certification, BLS certification, NRP certification, and a valid state license (compact license accepted).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system and prior employment in community hospital settings.
- Float: Float rotation between Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby units may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Must be open to working weekends, with coverage likely exceeding every other weekend.
- RTO requests must be included at the time of submission.
- Must be willing to work three of the five major holidays and adhere to unit policies regarding scheduling and RTO.
- Candidates are expected to perform sterile vaginal exams independently and support high-risk obstetric patients with expert skills.
- Orientation includes 36 hours, with modules completed pre-start and during orientation.
- The unit handles an average of 6-8 deliveries per day, with 15 beds and 13 rooms.
- Candidate responses to specific questions about prior work at a related facility and references are required during submission.
