Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a facility in New York State. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the labor and delivery department. The RN will assess, plan, and implement care for laboring women, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and promoting safe, patient-centered outcomes. The position requires a commitment to professional development, evidence-based practice, and collaborative teamwork to support new mothers and their families.
Job Details:
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Current NYS RN License; BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross); 5+ years of clinical nursing experience in labor and delivery or circulating experience, including high-risk OB and vaginal exams; NRP certification; FM certification; ACLS; Shift: 12-hour night shifts every third weekend; schedule may accommodate blocked scheduling depending on current needs; Minimum hours per week: 36.0; Start Date: 10/12/2026; End Date: 01/09/2027.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing; professional certification in a related nursing specialty; relevant skills certification such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC.
- Responsibilities include assessing, planning, and delivering nursing care, educating patients, administering medications safely, managing staffing and resources effectively, supporting professional development, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Additional Information: Candidates must have experience within the specified time frame, possess strong communication and critical thinking skills, and be capable of performing in a fast-paced, high-risk environment. The role may require occasional floating to post-partum as needed.
