First Connect Health has an immediate travel contract opening for an experienced Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) in Santa Monica, California. Operating within Providence Saint John's Health Center—a premier 266-bed coastal hospital handling ~200 deliveries per month across 9 labor suites, 4 antepartum rooms, and 3 triage beds—this position offers a structured 3x12 daytime schedule (07:00 AM - 19:00 PM / 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM). PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

Weekly Gross: $2,850.00
Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,800.00
Hourly W2 Rate: $25.00/hr (24 regular hours)
Daily Overtime Rate: $37.50/hr (12 daily OT hours included under California OT guidelines)

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

Schedule: Day shifts, 3x12-Hours (07:00 AM - 19:00 PM / 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM). Block scheduling is subject to manager discretion.
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours weekly (facility may call off once per two-week pay period).
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (EOW).
On-Call Requirements:NO ON-CALL REQUIRED!
Clinical Scope & High-Profile Setting: Comprehensive care across antepartum, intrapartum, triage, vaginal deliveries, C-section circulating, and PACU recovery (general/regional anesthesia). Postpartum couplet care experience is a plus. Discretion and strict adherence to patient privacy and HIPAA are paramount due to a high-profile patient base.
Floating Requirements: Travelers will float to Postpartum (couplet care) as needed based on unit census.
EMR & Scrubs: Epic EMR; scrubs are provided by the facility for L&D.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care Labor & Delivery RN experience is strictly required. Prior travel experience is required (no first-time travelers).
Licensure: Active California RN License strictly required in hand at submittal (facility will not pend licenses).
Certifications Required: * AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (NCC EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
Rehire Policy: Former Providence staff may return as travelers after a 3-month separation.

Rate Structure Note: Requisition features elevated seasonal winter rates taking effect on October 4, 2026 (standard rates return on February 27). Parking Costs: Hang-tag: $10.00 / Key-cards: $35.00, with payroll deduction of $38/pay period (hospital lot) or $16/pay period (St. Anne’s off-site lot). Submittal Rules & Compliance: All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted upfront at profile upload. Must commit to 3 of 5 winter holidays if scheduled. Facility policy strictly excludes candidates with background or Nursys hits.
