Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse position in an acute care setting. This role involves providing direct patient care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The nurse will assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective delivery experiences.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse (RN) license, at least three years recent RN experience working in an RN role, and at least two years recent RN experience working in a specialty area of Labor and Delivery (L&D). Certifications include CPR, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and advanced or intermediate certification from the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) or Electronic Fetal Heart Monitor (EFM).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience triaging patients in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, proficiency in care planning, nursing process, patient assessment, therapeutic care, and skills in patient advocacy, documentation, educational planning, socio-cultural analysis, interdisciplinary collaboration, delegation, and care coordination.
- Additional Information: The role emphasizes the importance of patient-centered care, timely communication with the healthcare team, and adherence to hospital policies and procedures in the Labor and Delivery setting.
