Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Located in Rochester, NY. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to pregnant patients across all gestational ages and postpartum patients within six weeks of delivery. The role requires collaboration with the provider team to ensure safe and family-centered birth experiences in a Magnet-recognized facility.
Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery (L&D)
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Shift hours / Contract Length: 7a-7p and 7p-7a; 13-week assignment
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Certifications: Active New York State RN or LPN license, ACLS or OB-ACLS, BLS, EFM, NRP
- Required Qualifications: Current New York State RN license, active certifications as listed, at least 2 years of clinical experience in labor and delivery, Epic charting system experience
- Clinical Skills: Assist with vaginal delivery, circulate for C-sections, manage postpartum care, administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin, perform APGAR scores, and utilize external fetal monitoring equipment
- Additional Information: Experience with assisting high-risk deliveries, neonatal resuscitation, and intrauterine pressure catheter placement preferred. Candidate must submit requests for scheduling, and must be available to work every other holiday.
- Unit Details: Cares for all pregnant patients at any gestational age, accepts postpartum patients within 6 weeks of delivery, employs advanced fetal monitoring, and utilizes various neonatal and obstetric equipment. Floating within skillset is required.
- COVID-19 & Flu Vaccination: Not required; flu vaccine status unknown.
- Submittal notes: Must have 1+ year of experience, active NY license in hand, and be outside a 75-mile radius from the facility.
