Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Department Nurse in Puyallup, WA. This position involves providing care to patients during antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum periods within a Level III trauma center. The role requires a strong focus on obstetric and neonatal care, with responsibilities that include fetal monitoring, cervical exams, epidurals, and couplet care once stable.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends from 09/21/2026 to 01/02/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN or Relias module). Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery, antepartum, or postpartum care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with couplet care, breast feeding support, Pyxis and HUGS security systems, and support for high-risk deliveries.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to areas where competency is maintained; will not float to the START unit.
  • Additional Information: No Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) on the unit. Surgery Techs scheduled M-F 0600-1500 are gradually phased out. Phlebotomy services are available. NICU attend if 34 weeks or less and needed. RT available 24/7 for high-risk deliveries or abnormal strip monitoring. Orientation includes facility and unit-specific training, plus annual core competencies.
