Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Previous travel nurse experience required; must have completed at least one assignment in a facility of comparable size and acuity
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced FHM, and MOAB certifications
- Experience providing high-acuity obstetric and maternal-fetal patient care
- Comfortable working overnight shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Strong communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and clinical assessment skills
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate Labor & Delivery nursing care to laboring, cervical ripening, antepartum, postpartum, and couplet care patients
- Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal condition
- Administer and titrate medications such as Pitocin, insulin, and magnesium drips as ordered
- Perform cervical exams, assist with fetal scalp electrodes, and support IUPC placement and monitoring
- Assist with epidural placement and collaborate closely with anesthesia and the interdisciplinary care team
- Circulate C-sections, support operative deliveries, and provide newborn care as needed
- Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies, including shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage
- Support safe skin-to-skin practices, lactation support, and newborn transition after delivery
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient-centered care
