Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery RN in Bangor, Maine. This role involves providing care in a busy Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and labor and delivery unit. The position requires delivering high-quality maternal and neonatal care, monitoring patients, assisting with deliveries, and supporting new mothers and their newborns. The scheduled shift is during the night hours, with an expected start date of 08/11/2026.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12 hours
  • Schedule: Night shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/11/2026
  • Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), MOAB
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with titrating Pitocin, fetal scalp electrodes, cervical exams, epidural management, insulin and magnesium drips, shoulder dystocia, neonatal resuscitation, IUPC placement and monitoring, lactation support, safe skin-to-skin protocol
  • Additional Information: Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, including NICU experience. The unit supports a large geographical area and handles a high volume of deliveries (~1800 annually). The team includes skilled OB Techs, support staff, and 24/7 anesthesia and OB provider coverage. EMR system used is Cerner, with fetal monitoring via Fetal Link. The unit operates on a rooming in model with physically separate labor and mother-baby units. Orientation includes on-site training and preceptor support. The role includes opportunities for float to Mother-Baby and antepartum/postpartum units. Scrub color is navy, provided on-site. No call required, but optional call shifts are possible.
