Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in Broomfield, Colorado. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a dedicated postpartum and L&D unit within an acute care setting. The RN will support various stages of maternal care, including triage, labor, antepartum, postpartum, and operating room circulator responsibilities, adhering to established guidelines and protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The assignment begins on 08/24/2026.
- Certifications and Education: Must have AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of recent specialty experience within the last 3 years, with at least 1 year of travel experience highly preferred.
- Clinical Experience: Must be able to perform triage, labor, antepartum, postpartum, and operating room circulating duties. Transition experience is preferred but not required. Capacity to float throughout the labor and delivery area is desirable; dedicated postpartum or L&D experience is also acceptable.
- Unit Details: The unit has 15 postpartum beds, 2 operating room suites for C-sections, 3 triage beds, and a newly opened dedicated postpartum unit with approximately 100 deliveries per month.
- Additional Information: The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios: labor 1:1-2, postpartum 1:1-4, triage 1:1-3. The transition role involves one RN for transition and another for maternal care. Scrub techs are available for C-sections, and fetal monitoring is performed with EPIC and OBIX systems. The RN will be on call for 2-12 hours per month as needed. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week period.
