Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Contract in Tahlequah, OK

Experienced Labor & Delivery RN needed for a 14-week travel nursing contract in a Level IV maternity unit in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Labor & Delivery RN Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
  • Current Oklahoma RN license or Compact RN license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to complete required background screening, drug screening, and other credentialing clearances
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds

Labor & Delivery Nursing Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetrical patients, newborns, and postpartum families throughout the care continuum
  • Assess clinical conditions, recognize changes in patient status, prioritize care, and respond promptly to urgent or emergency situations
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care, including discharge planning and culturally responsive patient and family needs
  • Assist with labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum care, and newborn-related services according to clinical standards and unit protocols
  • Initiate emergency interventions, including resuscitative measures, when appropriate and when a physician is not immediately available
  • Operate and monitor equipment such as infusion pumps, pulse oximeters, cardiac monitors, ventilators, and other emergency care devices
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, respiratory treatments, and other prescribed therapeutic interventions
  • Educate patients and families regarding preventive, curative, rehabilitative, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, care coordination, and progress toward expected outcomes
  • Delegate and supervise appropriate tasks performed by licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel
  • Provide clinical guidance and direction to nursing team members while promoting safe, ethical, and legally compliant practice
  • Help maintain unit supplies, equipment, cleanliness, and a safe care environment
  • Serve as a positive professional role model and contribute to effective collaboration with patients, families, nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary staff
