Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in a hospital setting. This role involves providing leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care to women in labor and post-partum. The position utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and their families. Critical communication of pertinent patient information to the healthcare team is essential, along with participation in finding solutions for variances from patient goals.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.- 1 year of nursing experience in labor and delivery, post-partum, or related setting (minimum 0 years, defaulted to 1 year for qualification purposes).
  • Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: - Candidates should be crossed trained in post-partum and delivery. - Skills include clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary for effective nursing care plan formulation, professional nursing services, and effective communication with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
