Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in obstetric care is needed in the region of Tallahassee. The position involves providing care in a busy labor and delivery unit, with responsibilities including circulating and recovering from C-sections, supporting mother/baby care, and assisting with neonatal stabilization. The role offers a night shift schedule and requires implementation of advanced fetal monitoring and neonatal procedures.
Job Details:
- Location: Tallahassee, FL
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Orientation sessions are held every Monday, with training on Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) during the second half of the shift at orientation.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Florida or Compact nursing license; AHA-BLS (American Heart Association - Basic Life Support); AHA-ACLS (American Heart Association - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support); NIHSS; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); AWHONN-Advanced Fetal Monitoring (ECG tests for fetal monitor if no certification); EPIC experience; minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience, preferably with LDRP or mother/baby specialization; strong ECG interpretation skills and immediate newborn care experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience is not required but experience in labor and delivery with high acuity is valued.
- Additional Information: The role may require floating as needed, with potential assignments to the Family Care unit, NICU, or PICU, to support staffing needs. The candidate will circulate and recover from C-sections, and be involved in assisting with complex obstetric cases.
