Compensation & Schedule Details

  • Hours & Shift: 36 hours per week (12-hour Nights; block scheduling available upon request).
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Target Start Date: September 28, 2026 (Orientation includes 1 day of compliance, 1 day of Epic class, plus 2–3 shifts of unit-specific orientation).
  • Scheduling & Standby: Every other weekend required (Nights: Friday and Saturday). Rotating holiday schedule with permanent staff. Standby requirement with a 45-minute response time when placed on standby.
  • Tax Note: Medical Solutions auto-deducts the 1.75% Washington state tax, which can be re-added into the profile package.

Key Facility Policies & Unit Scope

  • Unit Overview: High-volume unit averaging 170–190 births a month (~2,104 deliveries in 2025). Features 13 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 2 triage beds, and 14 postpartum beds. 24/7 in-house OBGYN hospitalist, NNP, and OB anesthesia.
  • Floating & Duties: Mother-baby and postpartum function as a single unit. Labor travelers must also function in postpartum for routine mom/baby care, transition newborns, and attend low-risk deliveries. No floating outside of the department or to the NICU.
  • Scrub Policy: Scrubs and a locker are provided by the facility.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required. No first-time travelers (at least one completed travel contract required). Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently, catching/transitioning babies, circulating in C-sections, and titrating magnesium, pitocin, and insulin.
  • References: Director explicitly requests 2 years of professional references included with the initial submittal email.
  • Licensure: Active Washington (WA) RN license or compact state license.
  • Certifications: AHA BLS and NRP required; intermediate or advanced FHM preferred.
