Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in the Department of Labor and Delivery at a healthcare facility in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The role involves providing comprehensive care to patients throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care. The RN will utilize the Nursing Process to ensure safe and effective delivery of care, demonstrating leadership, critical thinking, and clinical competencies in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days, 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., floating required, 36 hours per week minimum
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and STABLE; 2+ years of Labor and Delivery (L&D) nursing experience; current licensure to practice in the state of New Mexico; no minimum experience requirement for this position.

  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: The RN will be responsible for providing nursing care to antepartum triage, active labor, postpartum (mother and baby), and in the special care nursery. EMR systems utilized include MedHost (inpatient), GE Centricity (OB), and Athena (Clinic). The unit encompasses 1 triage bed, 3 labor beds, and 4 postpartum beds, with a patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:4. This is a vacant position created to fill a staffing need, with no call required.
