Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Washington or compact licensure in hand at submission
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required; high-risk obstetrics experience strongly preferred
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Comfort working in a high-acuity women’s health environment with labor, antepartum, postpartum, and maternal emergency cases
- Strong experience with patient ratios of 1:2 in labor and 1:3 in antepartum
- Ability to work some weekends and commit to required holiday coverage
- Two professional references covering the last 1 year within the past 3 years
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients in Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and related women’s health settings
- Monitor labor progress and fetal status while recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
- Support high-risk obstetric patients including pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, inductions, and maternal emergencies
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, recovery care, and postpartum stabilization
- Perform and support common L&D procedures such as IV management, fetal monitoring, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, and cervical assessments
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, positive outcomes for mothers and newborns
- Float between units as needed based on facility needs and patient census
- Deliver patient education and support families through labor, delivery, and postpartum care
