Position Overview
We are seeking experienced and compassionate Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses (L&D RNs) to provide high-quality care to women throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The L&D RN will work closely with physicians, midwives, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe outcomes for mothers and newborns.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rate, contractions, and overall patient condition.
Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
Recognize and respond appropriately to maternal or fetal complications and emergencies.
Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments as ordered.
Assist with epidurals, inductions, fetal monitoring, and other L&D procedures.
Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
Perform accurate assessments and document patient care in the medical record.
Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiology, neonatal teams, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide immediate newborn care and assist with stabilization when necessary.
Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
Previous Labor & Delivery experience preferred/required depending on facility.
Current BLS certification.
ACLS certification may be required.
NRP certification required or preferred depending on facility.
Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with fetal monitoring and obstetric emergencies preferred.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal L&D RN is compassionate, clinically confident, detail-oriented, and comfortable caring for both routine and high-risk obstetric patients. Candidates should be able to remain calm and make sound clinical decisions during rapidly changing situations.
Travel nurses: First-time travelers may be considered depending on the facility and assignment requirements.
Trexoros Health Job ID #1803. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
