Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in the High-Risk/High-Volume Labor and Delivery department located at the facility. This role involves supporting midwifery clients, private obstetricians, and adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, as well as community care clinics. The nurse will function in the role of Baby Nurse during deliveries, continuing care of newborns until transfer to postpartum, with responsibilities following AWHONN guidelines and electronic fetal monitoring practices.

Job Details

  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license accepted); at least 1 year of experience in high-risk labor and delivery settings; certifications including BLS, NRP, ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, scheduled every 6 weeks to meet unit needs, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities: Support high-risk deliveries, assist with vaginal and cesarean section deliveries, circulate during procedures, provide neonatal and postpartum care including eyes, thighs, assessment, and injections, and support breastfeeding and infant care.
  • Additional Information: Must be capable of float rotation between postpartum, antepartum, and sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby, with rare opportunities to float to NICU or other units. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and following AWHONN guidelines is valued. Candidates will need to respond to specific screening questions, including previous employment at Providence facilities, and provide two references covering 1 year during the last 3 years prior to start.
