Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position located in the Portland area. This role involves float opportunities between units such as High Risk Obstetrics, Mother-Baby, and Postpartum Specialty Care Units. The position requires working 12-hour night shifts, with scheduled on-call and weekend commitments, supporting women of childbearing age and neonatal patients in a short-term acute care setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license; at least 2 years of experience; certifications including AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP; experience with blood and blood products, high-risk obstetrics, sterile speculum exams, vaginal delivery, cesarean sections, fetal monitoring, and neonatal resuscitation; proficient in charting with Epic electronic medical record system.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Labor and Delivery, Mother-Baby, or antepartum units; flexibility to float between units based on skill set; ability to work scheduled on-call and rotating weekends.
- Additional Information: The position demands a vehicle for travel between multiple facilities including Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent. The candidate should be prepared for potential floating to different units to meet patient care needs, with notice provided in advance for floating to Seaside. Deep understanding of labor, postpartum, and neonatal care procedures is essential.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must include responses confirming previous employment at similar facilities and provide two references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years. All candidates must be willing to work three of five holidays and adhere to scheduled on-call duties.
