• Contract Length: 20 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shift Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, 18:45 - 07:15
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 - $2,130
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating: May float within the women’s health unit as needed
• Call: Not required
• Charting System: Epic
• Unit Focus: Intrapartum, antepartum, postpartum, triage, and obstetrical procedures

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience; 3 years preferred
• Experience in a high-volume environment with more than 300 births per month strongly preferred
• Experience circulating for C-sections preferred
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, higher-acuity obstetrics unit
• Current BLS certification
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
• NRP certification required
• Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and provide immediate newborn care
• NC RN license or Compact RN license accepted; pending license may be considered for submittal
• Epic charting experience required
• Willingness to float within or near the facility as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to obstetrical patients across labor, delivery, triage, antepartum, and postpartum settings
• Support routine and urgent obstetrical procedures, including scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births
• Monitor patients closely and respond promptly to changes in condition in a high-acuity Labor & Delivery environment
• Assist with triage and assessment of obstetrical patients presenting for care
• Perform sterile vaginal exams, circulation support for C-sections, and immediate newborn care
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the clinical care team to manage a busy, high-volume women’s health unit efficiently and safely
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively using SBAR
• Support safe patient flow and provide care with professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork
