Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030–$2,130

• Contract Length: Approximately 20 weeks
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Hours: 6:45 p.m. – 7:15 a.m.
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 2:1
• Weekend Requirement: Six weekend shifts per six-week schedule, generally every other weekend
• Call: None
• Float: May float within the women’s services area, including high-risk obstetrics
• Charting: Epic
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Time-Off Guidelines: Up to seven days may be approved in advance; no time off during the first week and holiday restrictions apply

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license may be considered for submission
• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience; 3 years is preferred
• Recent experience in a high-volume maternity setting with more than 300 births per month
• Experience caring for high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
• Experience with Cesarean birth circulation and operating room procedures strongly preferred
• Current BLS certification
• AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced certification, or C-EFM in lieu of AWHONN certification where accepted
• Current NRP certification
• Strong Epic charting skills
• Ability to work effectively in a very busy, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit and manage double labor assignments when required
• Willingness to float within the women’s services area and work required weekend and holiday shifts

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetrical patients at 16 weeks’ gestation and beyond, including high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
• Care for patients in labor, delivery, recovery, and triage settings, including high-risk maternity presentations
• Perform sterile vaginal examinations, fetal and maternal assessments, triage, and ongoing pain and comfort management
• Monitor and interpret fetal and maternal status, including dysrhythmias and oxytocin challenge testing as indicated
• Assist with scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births, including circulating responsibilities
• Provide immediate newborn care and respond to infant or neonatal emergencies
• Start and maintain IV access, administer medications, and apply appropriate isolation and personal protective equipment practices
• Support antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, medication administration, and other obstetrical procedures
• Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team using SBAR
• Float within the women’s services area as needed while maintaining safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care
