Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in obstetrics, scheduled for a night shift position within a healthcare facility. This role involves circulating and recovering c-sections, managing laboring and preterm pregnant patients, and adhering to AWHONN guidelines and ratios. The assignment offers an opportunity to work in a Level II Emergency (EQ) facility that also functions as a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 1900-0700, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, including 4 weekend shifts per schedule and holidays as needed
  • Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); minimum 4 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; valid license to submit; willing to wait for licensing; experience with C-sections and computer charting, preferably Cerner; experience circulating and recovering c-sections; must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% before acceptance
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) system, familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines
  • Additional Information: Travelers will take a pass/fail simulation lab on day 1 of orientation with study guides provided. The unit accommodates gestations of 28 weeks and greater and can transfer patients to Primary Care post-delivery. They are a Level II EQ and Level 1 Trauma Center. RT and anesthesia staff are available 24/7, and the facility is equipped with RT tools, CRNA services, and an in-house OB hospitalist. The unit has 18 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, postpartum beds, 14 OB triage beds, and 8 antepartum beds, with average deliveries of 8-10 daily. No scrub is required; however, circulating and recovering c-sections must be confidently managed.
