Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a short-term acute care facility. The role involves providing comprehensive maternity services, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and nursery care, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction. The RN will support level I maternity and newborn care and may float between units as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, start date 10/12/2026, end date 01/11/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Licensed as an RN with a valid state license (compact license acceptable), minimum of 1 year of experience in labor and delivery or maternity nursing, certification in AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate, BLS, NRP, and STABLE.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in a community hospital with patient ratios consistent with AWHONN standards.
- Float: Float rotation may be required based on unit needs.
- Additional Information: Candidates must be able to competently handle Cesarean Sections, sterile vaginal exams, external fetal monitoring, recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, and triage of obstetrical patients. The unit has two dedicated operating rooms for C-sections and serves patients at 36 weeks gestation and above.
