Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse - Location unspecified. This role involves delivering high-risk obstetric care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with a focus on labor, delivery, and postpartum patient management. The position requires expertise in electronic fetal monitoring and neonatal care, with responsibilities spanning from delivery to newborn transfer.
Job Details
- Certifications: Required: BLS, NRP; Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
- Education & Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of high-risk obstetric experience; at least 2 years of experience in high acuity environment; current supervisory references; proof of current certifications.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: At least 3 years of high-risk obstetrical experience; current compact license in hand; valid state license; active Nursys within last 2 years; experience in high acuity & high pace environment; handles obstetric emergencies including neonatal resuscitation, high risk delivery assistance, and postpartum care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic fetal monitoring following AWHONN guidelines and prior neonatal and postpartum care experience.
- Additional Information: Candidates must circulate during delivery, provide newborn care, including eye and thigh assessments, and administer vitamin K injections. The role may involve floating to related units such as antepartum, postpartum, and NICU. Must commit to working specified holidays and have the flexibility for occasional float coverage. Candidates must have at least 1 year of travel or agency experience.
