Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse position is based in a high-acuity hospital setting. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, and immediate postpartum patients. The RN will collaborate closely with obstetric providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and patient-centered care during the labor and birth process.
Job Details:
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required, C-EFM (Continuous Electronic Fetal Monitoring) and AWHONN FHM (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses Fetal Heart Monitor) preferred.
- Education/Experience: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, minimum two years of recent Labor and Birth experience in an acute care hospital setting, with the ability to independently manage laboring patients, including high-risk obstetric cases.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities include fetal monitoring and interpretation, labor support and coaching, medication administration, IV therapy, obstetric emergencies, and rapid response.
- Experience working in a team-based, high-acuity environment with strong communication, critical thinking, and time management skills is required.
- Must be comfortable floating between Antepartum, Labor & Birth units, and managing 2 to 4 patients on occasion.
- Must have the ability to quickly adapt to new workflows, policies, and electronic medical records.
