Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Department (L&D) position located in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, including supporting normal deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum recovery. The position requires a focus on maternal and neonatal health, with adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRN (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider), valid state license (compact license preferred), and at least 1 year of recent clinical experience in L&D.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with postpartum, discharge teaching to parents, infant identification, newborn assessment, phototherapy, thermoregulation, and neonatal hypoglycemia.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to Labor and Delivery or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Additional Information: The clinical duties include managing postpartum vaginal or cesarean deliveries, tubal ligation, circumcisions, OB-GYN surgeries, and providing routine postpartum and neonatal care including thermoregulation and glucose management. Candidates must be willing to commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays and adhere to all scheduling and RTO policies. References covering 1 year (6 months for CNA) within the last 3 years are required.
