Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care to Labor & Delivery patients
• Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for safe delivery of care
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education
• Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff
• Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in Alabama (no NURSYS hits)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with high-acuity obstetrical cases across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum settings
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems in a hospital environment
• Prior travel nursing experience in Labor & Delivery
