Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) San Antonio, TX
This position involves providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum within a womens services unit. The nurse will support a team dedicated to caring for laboring patients, performing postpartum and couplet care, and circulating in the operating room for cesarean sections to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: Candidates must hold Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), American Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification, Fetal Monitoring (FM), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and zero years of experience.
  • Unit Information: Womens services unit with 10 labor, delivery, and recovery beds, 2 operating rooms, and 2 triage beds.
  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in labor and delivery, post-partum, and triage. Experience circulating in the operating room for cesarean sections is advantageous.
  • Additional Information: Must be energetic and ready to support a new team. Knowledge of HillRom equipment, GE electronic medical records (Expanse), and monitoring in CPNTypical procedures include care of labor and delivery patients and postpartum couplet care. Willingness to rotate weekends and potentially cover holidays.
