Job Description
Facility is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology RN to provide specialized nursing care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients undergoing interventional radiology and special procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care for Interventional Radiology patients.
- Monitor patients during procedural sedation and manage post-procedure recovery.
- Assist with diagnostic catheterizations, angioplasty, embolization, biopsies, paracentesis, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, and gastrostomy procedures.
- Monitor dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
- Perform and monitor IV therapy, vascular access, sheath removal, and vascular closure systems.
- Maintain patient safety through infection prevention, radiation safety, and procedural protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Float as needed and participate in on-call coverage approximately 1 week per month.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; Interventional Radiology experience required.
- ACLS and BLS certification.
- Active Rhode Island RN license.
- MediTech charting experience required.
- Previous charge experience preferred.
- Teaching or community hospital experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of procedural sedation, dysrhythmia management, emergency medications, thrombolytics, and IV therapy.
- Experience with diagnostic cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures preferred.
