This includes the prevention of illness and injury, as well as alleviating suffering through diagnosis and treatment. RNs advocate for the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This is in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and relevant policies and guidelines. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Job Responsibilities: Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients. The RN serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment. Factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact are considered. Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management utilizing available resources. Utilizes knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications following policy. Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. Actively participates in nursing governance by supporting unit initiatives and peer review practices. Engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Will follow all organizational values. Performs other duties as assigned. Schedule Notes: This position is Monday through Friday, with on-call one day per week and every third weekend.
