Job Summary
Interventional Radiology Nurse - Radiology, Location unspecified. This position involves providing patient care for individuals undergoing a variety of radiology interventional procedures, including arteriograms, biopsies, and sedation. The role requires collaboration with radiologists to develop and implement care plans, record relevant data, and evaluate intervention effectiveness in a fast-paced, highly specialized environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: Responsible for patient assessments, assisting radiologists, and delivering care during interventional procedures such as arteriograms, biopsies, and sedation. Develops and implements individualized care plans based on current scientific knowledge and patient needs, recording all relevant data according to policy. Utilizes equipment including Epic Documentation System, Omnicell Medication Management, and assorted interventional radiology tools.
- Required Qualifications: MD or compact state RN license, active BLS (American Heart Association), active ACLS (American Heart Association), 2-5 years of relevant experience, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in radiology nursing.
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, 0800-1830, with on-call responsibilities up to 2 days per week, including rotating weekends.
- Additional Information: The role involves floating across different units/departments within the radiology division, specifically across four interventional radiology rooms performing vascular, neurointerventional, and body interventional procedures, as well as procedures in CT, MRI, ultrasound, and diagnostic areas. A one-week orientation, including one day in each area and one call rotation, is provided. Turnover, call, and cancellation policies are in place, with up to 12 hours notice allowed for cancellations or schedule changes. Charting is completed using the EPIC system.
