    Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Cardiac)

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | 36 Hours/Week | 13–26 Week Assignments Accepted

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a cardiac IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit managing diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valvular conditions, cardiomyopathy, and vascular disease
    • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and oversee cardiac drip administration including titration
    • Perform and assist with sheath management and removal, femoral sheath care, and post-procedural monitoring following cardiac catheterization, DCCV, electrophysiology procedures, and pacemaker placements
    • Manage patients post cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries including CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, VATS, carotid endarterectomy, and FEM-POP bypass
    • Operate and monitor specialized equipment including chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, TR band, Fem-stop, Doppler, bladder scanner, and EKG
    • Participate in unit float rotation and fulfill weekend requirements; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters as part of a Storm/Hurricane Team
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
    • Minimum 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required
    • Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
    • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
    • Proficiency in cardiac telemetry interpretation, management of dysrhythmias, Post MI care, Pre/Post cardiac cath care, non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BiPAP, nasal cannula), and chest tube management (Emerson/Pleuravac)
    • Must pass EKG testing prior to start; all compliance testing must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Arterial line management experience
    • Wound care and wound VAC experience
    • Prior charge nurse experience
