Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed PCU serving cardiac, NSTEMI, post-cath lab, AFib, CHF, GI bleed, detox, respiratory distress, and sepsis populations
• Manage and titrate IV drips including nitroglycerin, diltiazem, insulin, heparin, and amiodarone
• Monitor patients on CPAP, BiPap, and Optiflow respiratory support equipment
• Collaborate with telemetry technicians who read cardiac monitor strips (GE monitors); maintain awareness of patient cardiac status
• Float as needed to Medical-Surgical or IMC overflow in the ICU
• Adhere to facility clock-in/clock-out requirements at all times

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Wisconsin
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• EKG course completion required
• Demonstrated experience managing IV drips including nitroglycerin, heparin, diltiazem, and amiodarone
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission date
• Must live more than 80 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Post-cath lab nursing experience
• Arterial line experience
• Prior experience in a PCU, IMC, or Stepdown setting with high-acuity cardiac patients
