    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

    Location

    Wausau, WI | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on an 8-bed observation/intermediate care unit managing a 1:4 patient ratio with a high volume of admissions and discharges
    • Care for patients presenting with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, and pre/post-op urology and GI cases
    • Administer and monitor IV drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and Heparin
    • Read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; complete an EKG exam during compliance
    • Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
    • Document accurately using EPIC; collaborate with team and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient experience
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Wisconsin RN License required
    • BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
    • ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
    • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience
    • At least 1 prior travel assignment required
    • EPIC charting experience required
    • During flu season, travelers who decline flu or COVID vaccination are required to wear a mask at all times per facility policy; compliance is mandatory with no exceptions
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • NIHSS certification highly preferred
    • Background in observation units, medical/surgical, or telemetry settings
    • Experience managing drips and interpreting cardiac rhythms in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong adaptability, resilience, and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the care team
