    Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

    Utica, NY | Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | 48 Hours per Week | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intermediate care nursing for adult patients (18+) on a 64-bed unit, including 15 designated neuro beds
    • Manage patients with complex diagnoses including neurological, cardiac, trauma, respiratory (COPD), DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-operative conditions
    • Operate and monitor specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems
    • Care for patients on chronic ventilators (unable to wean) in coordination with respiratory therapy
    • Float to other units as required
    • Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
    Required Qualifications
    • Active New York State RN License (verified and in good standing)
    • Current AHA BLS certification required
    • Current ACLS certification required
    • Current NIHSS certification required
    • Minimum 2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU setting
    • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
    • Local candidates are welcome to apply (local pay rates apply for those residing within 75 miles of the facility)
    • No holiday RTO will be accepted — holiday availability is required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience in an IMCU or PCU setting
    • Experience with neurological patient populations
    • Familiarity with temporary pacemakers, arterial lines, and ventilator management
