Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)
Location
Utica, NY | Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Floating required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intermediate care nursing for adult patients (18+) across a 64-bed unit, including 15 designated Neuro beds
- Manage patients presenting with common diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory (COPD), DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV Stepdown, and post-operative conditions
- Operate and monitor specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems
- Support care of chronic ventilator-dependent patients in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy
- Float to other units as required based on staffing needs
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License (verified and in good standing)
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU setting
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in an IMCU or PCU setting
- Experience managing ventilator-dependent patients
- Familiarity with Neuro, Cardiac, and Trauma patient populations
- Comfort with specialty equipment such as arterial lines, chest tubes, and BiPAP
