Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed private Stepdown unit with a patient population that includes heavy cardiac cases, dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from the ICU
Monitor, read, and interpret telemetry strips; serve as part of the central monitor station for the hospital
Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin; manage set-rate insulin infusions
Manage patients on Bipap, CPAP, and High Flow oxygen therapy
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (up to 1:6 for MedSurg acuity patients) and participate in every-other-weekend and rotating holiday scheduling
May float to the ICU in a supportive capacity as needed
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
Experience titrating drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting with a cardiac-focused patient population
Familiarity with Cerner and/or EPIC electronic medical record systems
Experience managing patients on Bipap, CPAP, or High Flow oxygen therapy
