Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | 4 weekend shifts per schedule
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Work night shift alongside a team of 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs, and 2 CNAs
- Monitor and manage patients requiring step-down level care, including administration of non-titratable drips
- Float to Med/Surg as needed per unit guidelines
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Demonstrate resiliency, accountability, and integrity as a high-performing team member
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Texas (or compact eligibility)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of PCU, IMC, or step-down nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with non-titratable drips such as amiodarone and Cardizem
- Tracheostomy care experience
- Familiarity with progressive care or step-down unit workflows and protocols
