    Job Title

    Travel RN – Med Step Down / Intermediate Care (Nights)

    Location

    Saint Louis, MO | Acute Care / Step Down

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | No call requirements

    Key Responsibilities
    • Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups across a respiratory-heavy step down unit
    • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
    • Manage patients presenting with respiratory failure, COPD, ETOH, overdose, GI bleed, electrolyte imbalance, and cancer diagnoses
    • Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Tracheostomy (Trach), Ventilator (Vent), VAPOTHERM, and BiPAP
    • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable nursing practice standards
    • Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit; maintain professional accountability for provision of care delivered by direct care team members
    Required Qualifications
    • Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or hold an active Missouri RN license
    • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) — required
    • ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) — required
    • Minimum 1 year of inpatient Step Down experience
    • Demonstrated Trach and Ventilator management experience — required for this unit
    • Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments running November 1 through April 1
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with VAPOTHERM and BiPAP in an intermediate or step down care setting
    • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
    • Strong teamwork, dependability, and flexibility in a fast-paced clinical environment
