    Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Every Third Weekend | Every Other Holiday

    Key Responsibilities
    • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness in a 22-bed cardiac stepdown unit.
    • Safely administer and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Amiodarone, Cardene, Dobutamine, and Dopamine.
    • Manage patients requiring oxygen therapies such as tracheostomies, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen, as well as chest tubes and JP drains (no ventilators or arterial lines).
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members and communicating with patients and families.
    • Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and adhering to established standards of practice.
    • Monitor telemetry in collaboration with available monitor techs and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions with clinical judgment and evidence-based practice.
    Required Qualifications
    • Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
    • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience with demonstrated Stepdown or PCU experience required.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to direct patient care.
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
    • NIH Stroke Certification required.
    • Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available upon request).
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care, including sheath pulls.
    • Proficiency with Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR).
    • CCRN or PCCN certification preferred.
    • Completion of a Critical Care Course preferred.
