Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as a member of the interdisciplinary care team in the provision and management of patient care on a Progressive Care Unit
- Care for a diverse patient population including those presenting with CHF, DKA, Stroke, Sepsis, Pacemaker, Ablation, Angiogram, TCAR, and EVAR
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 (may extend to 1:5 based on unit needs)
- Float as required to all inpatient areas and the Emergency Department
- May be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses
- Document and manage care using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a PCU, IMC, or Stepdown setting
- Active Iowa RN license or compact nursing license (must reflect Active status)
- Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or U.S. Military certificates also accepted)
- Active ACLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or U.S. Military certificates also accepted)
- Active NIHSS Certification
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- Comfort and experience floating to Emergency Department and varied inpatient settings
- Experience caring for cardiac, vascular, and neurological patient populations
