    Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Pulmonary/GI)

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Weekend rotation required (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week block) | One holiday required per 13-week contract

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a Hospitalist PCU setting with a primary focus on Pulmonary and GI patient populations, including adults and geriatrics
    • Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response in a stepdown/PCU environment with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Administer IV therapy, blood products, and common IV medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin (protocol), and Insulin (protocol); manage central and peripheral line care
    • Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management (no ventilator management on this unit)
    • Utilize rapid response and code teams; maintain and apply isolation precautions as required
    • Document all patient care accurately using Epic; float within skillset as needed and may work without CNA support
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Virginia State RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state)
    • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
    • Minimum experience in a PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown clinical setting
    • Proficiency with Epic EMR
    • Demonstrated competency in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with Pulmonary and/or GI patient populations in an acute care setting
    • Familiarity with phlebotomy and protocol-driven medication management
    • Ability to work independently in a unit environment with variable ancillary support
