    Registered Nurse – Stroke/Neuro PCU (IMC/Stepdown)

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM); 4x12 available by request | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a telemetry PCU specializing in stroke, neurology, and hospitalist medicine patients within a Joint Commission certified primary stroke center
    • Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response interventions
    • Administer IV therapy, blood products, and cardiac drips (no titration required); manage central and peripheral line care
    • Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
    • Maintain remote telemetry monitoring and implement isolation precautions across PCU, IMC, and stepdown settings
    • Float within skillset as required by unit staffing needs
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license (pending license considered only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state)
    • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
    • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
    • Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management in a PCU, IMC, or stepdown environment
    • Experience with Neuro PCU patient population
    • Ability to meet weekend requirements (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block) and work at least one holiday per 13-week contract
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience preferred
    • Familiarity with IV drip management including Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Lidocaine, and Ketamine
    • Experience in a high-acuity acute care or Level I Trauma Center environment
