    Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

    Location

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a mixed acuity unit serving PCU, Medical-Surgical Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical patients with ratios adjusted by acuity
    • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias; manage cardiac drips and titrate medications as indicated
    • Care for surgical patients including pre- and post-operative ENT, general surgery, trauma surgery, and orthopedic surgery cases, as well as overflow medical diagnosis patients
    • Perform and manage advanced clinical skills including central line care, PICC line management, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and non-invasive airway management including CPAP/BiPAP and HFNC
    • Administer blood products, manage IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, and thrombolytic agents
    • Float to corresponding sister units as required and participate in every-other-weekend scheduling
    Required Qualifications
    • Active New York State RN license required and must be in hand at time of submission
    • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience with PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years required
    • Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
    • Proficiency in EPIC (hard requirement) and Pyxis; familiarity with SBAR communication
    • Demonstrated competency in telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and a broad range of PCU/stepdown clinical skills
    • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • PALS certification preferred
    • TCAR (Transcarotid Artery Revascularization) experience preferred
    • Experience with peripheral nerve block catheters, traction, and total joint replacements
