Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 55-bed unit
Monitor and manage adult patients presenting with diagnoses including CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, subdural hematoma, and general weakness
Administer and manage common drips and medications including PCA pumps, Cardizem, and insulin
Perform telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
Conduct hourly rounding and maintain a strong focus on patient responsiveness and experience
Float to medical-surgical areas as needed based on unit census and staffing demands
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in good standing
Current ACLS and BLS certifications
Telemetry competency
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Experience with Alaris IV pumps
Ability to pass a required open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or intermediate care setting
Ability to manage a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong organizational and time-management skills
Collaborative team-oriented approach with the ability to support colleagues in a close-knit unit environment
