Key Responsibilities
Provide IMC and medical-surgical stepdown level care to cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery patients
Manage a 4:1 patient ratio in accordance with a safe staffing acuity matrix
Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF exacerbation, dysrhythmias (Afib/Aflutter, SVT, V-tach), bradycardia, pacemaker management, hemo/pneumothorax, and pre/post-operative cardiothoracic surgical patients (CABG, femoral bypass, thoracotomy, VATS, CEA)
Support patients requiring cath lab procedures including STEMI/NSTEMI and coronary artery disease management
Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
Float within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities as needed
Required Qualifications
Active, unrestricted RN license (no pending licenses accepted; no license hits)
Minimum 2 years of IMC/MS stepdown experience, specifically in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and/or cardiothoracic surgery
Experience with a 4:1 patient ratio
BLS and ACLS certifications required
EKG Course/Telemetry certification and NIHSS certification required
Must reside more than 75 miles from the contracted facility to be eligible — local candidates within 75 miles will not be accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience with temporary or external pacemaker management
Familiarity with pre- and post-operative cardiothoracic surgical patient care (CABG, VATS, CEA, thoracotomy)
Experience with cath lab patient populations (STEMI/NSTEMI)
Proficiency with Epic EMR
